Inaction bred this tragedy. Paradoxically, so did lack of self-restraint.
Now karma rolls down like waters. No mere fig leaf can cover this human shame.

God is reported to have said, "Never again shall a flood destroy the earth.” Yet many coastal areas flood twice a day, with each high tide—as Route 9 in Delaware is my witness.

Either God broke the Noahic covenant, or we humans with the heat engine of industrial civilization made this mess. Ironically, our choice of explanation for this upwelling tragedy does not matter at all.
